What is tango for you?

A dance.
Movement.
Steps, technique, roles.

And also
an embrace.
A feeling of safety or challenge.
Connection.
Sometimes even home.

Tango holds many meanings, and none of them are fixed.
They live in our bodies, shaped by our history, our partners, the music, and the moment.

Tango Sensaciones is an online space for tango dancers who are curious about what they feel while dancing — not only what they do.

Here, we slow down and bring attention to our sensations: what we experience physically in our bodies, and how that experience shapes our connection, presence, and choices in the dance.

Rather than searching for right or wrong ways to feel, we stay curious. “Slow” can feel spacious to one person and uncomfortable to another. Warmth, pressure, closeness, or tension can be experienced as supportive, challenging, or both.

All of it belongs.

How we meet?

We meet online once a month.

Each gathering is a guided, shared experience where we explore tango from the inside out. Sessions include simple somatic practices, music, moments of reflection, and conversation in a welcoming group setting.

Community is shaped by presence, listening, and care. In our circles, active listening is a form of participation.

We are not focused on numbers. We value the quality of the gathering and the attention we bring to one another and to the space we are creating together.

Tango Sensaciones welcomes dancers who are interested in exploring the depth of their sensations — in the dance itself and within the tango community.

Jesús Acosta

Jesús Acosta

Jesús founded Dance in Conversation at the beginning of 2020, hosting monthly online discussions that connected tango dancers globally during the pandemic.

In 2023, Jesús completed a long-format training in somatic, trauma-informed therapy, which deeply changed how he relates to himself, others, and the dance. He continues to document his tango journey through writing and lives and dances in Devon, UK, supported by a nourishing local community.

Alla Petcheniouk

Alla Petcheniouk

Alla began dancing tango in New York in 2012. In 2019, she encountered somatic therapy, and during her first practice sensed a clear vision: to bring this way of cultivating bodily awareness and connection into the world of tango.

After years of facilitating somatic workshops by day and dancing tango around the world by night, Tango Sensaciones feels like the natural meeting point of these two paths — a space that asks for care, slowness, and attention.
